This book does have some useful information in it which is a pro, however, I found that it has many shortcomings:1) No Table of Contents or sections so this book is very unorganized.
2) No index (although many books do not have indexes these days).
3) It gives types of foods and water and some of the benefits, yet not enough information to be of value.
4) Written in 1905 so this is really is not up; to today's standards such as giving foods vitamins. For example when FLESH (Meat) is mentioned, there is no comment on the vitamin content etc.
Since this book is free, and somewhat helpful, I give it 2.6 stars. If you are serious about nutrition information, there are many books available and many at a low cost.

I wanted to learn more about food how to make food and this book is gone help me do it
the title leads one to believe that the book will have info on macro and micronutrients, and how they are used in the body. i was expecting a good review of the krebbs cycle and the electron transport chain, and instead i got a mishmash of the author's opinions on how food tastes and on the superiority of vegetarianism over "flesh-eating." i was extremely disappointed by this thinly veiled attempt at passing this unorganized piece of persuasive writing off as being purely educational.
Great seller!
First, This book has no table of contents. I can't imagine someone taking the time to write a book and not bothering to show its organization. Very weak effort in my opinion.
Second, it's written in a style as if it was 1850.
Third, with no table of contents, I can't tell if there's actually any content I want to read.
Fourth, What little I did read up front appeared to be the author's opinion, and based on very little actual science. At least, it doesn't appear to be based on current science.
I paid $0.00 for this book, and I'm feeling that I got what I paid for. If I had actually spent money for this, I would be returning it.
everything was ok, quality and price good.
Actually not much science, more of a good cookbook. There are much better sources for the science of cooking, But this book is good for home cooks.
